    Terms of Use of the Judgment Publication Service

    • By accessing the Judgment Publication Service on the electronic platform of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, the user is deemed accepting the terms of use included in this agreement.
    • The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department reserves the right to review the aforementioned terms and conditions at any time and to announce any amendments or changes to such terms and conditions, to publish them on the Judicial Department's electronic platform. It is the user's responsibility to check periodically for any changes, and the continued use of the service in light of the changes made from time to time to the terms and conditions contained therein shall be deemed acceptance by the user of such changed terms and conditions.
    • The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department aims, by launching the judgments publication service, to strengthen the legal culture in society, and the online platform is the official body for viewing judicial decisions. For media professionals from the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s Media Centre, a written authorisation or an official permit must be obtained. If such authorization or permit is granted, the media professionals must comply with the following:
      1. Commit to the credibility and message of the Judicial Department in spreading legal literacy.
      2. Refrain from using cases in a way that stirs up public opinion./li>
      3. Avoid using headlines not reflecting the truth of the case for sensationalism purposes.
      4. Respect privacy and public morals, and refrain from divulging the identity of the parties to the case in any way.
      5. Refrain from presenting the crime in a way that arouses sympathy or calls for imitation. The rights of the accused must be respected, in application of the presumption of innocence.
      6. Commit to respect the rights of the most vulnerable social groups (children, women, people of determination) and avoid exploiting them for media excitement.
      7. Refrain from publishing matters that could influence the judges who are charged with adjudicating the cases in accordance with the law.
      8. Express true pluralism and spread the values of tolerance and acceptance of the other.
    • The judgment publication service available on the electronic platform of the Judicial Department is part of the property and general patrimony of the Judicial Department, and the use process is subject to the following general conditions:
      1. When using data from the judgment publication service, the source must be cited in order to maintain the ownership of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department over the data and its credibility, as it is the official reference.
      2. The user of the data must refrain from any distortion of the facts, data, source or mislead the readers.
      3. The use of the content of the service or its publication for any other purpose or for any other reason than in full compliance with the terms of service defined in this agreement is prohibited. It is also prohibited to republish the judgments or their contents in any other printed, audio or electronic publication or through social media sites or any other means. It is also forbidden to publish any press or media news about the judicial decisions rendered by the courts of the Judicial Department, or for commercial advertising purposes, whether for consideration or otherwise, unless written consent or official permit to do so has been obtained from the Media Centre of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
      4. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department shall not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental or consequential, special or exceptional damages that may result from the use of, or inability to use, the judgments in question, including, but not limited to, any damages that may be suffered by the user or any other person due to the distortion, analysis, alteration, or any modification or investigation regarding the information contained in the judgments published on the platform, including in particular the names, titles, attributes, nationalities, the domicile or place of work of each of them as well as the registration numbers of companies and commercial establishments, and the Judicial Department shall not provide any compensation in this regard.
    •  The user may be exposed to legal liability for misuse of the published judgments, in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations in force in the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
