The Abu Dhabi Labour Court was established by the decision of His Highness the Chairman of the Judicial Department No. (22) of 2018 with the aim of providing a judicial environment that meets the requirements of the labour market in the Emirate. It has the jurisdiction to adjudicate disputes that arise between workers and employers in the private sector, including government and semi-governmental companies and domestic workers. The court has several judicial chambers, including summary proceedings, simple labour claims of less than 500 thousand dirhams, minor labour chambers if the value of the litigation is more than 500 thousand dirhams and less than ten million dirhams, in addition to major labour chambers whose claim exceeds ten million dirhams, plus chambers in which the government is a party, appeal and enforcement chambers. A permanent building has been allocated to the Court in Mussafah Industrial area because of its proximity to the court users to facilitate their access to the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Labour Court.
