​Do I have to attend in person for litigation sessions?

Most litigation sessions are held remotely through remote video call technology . In exceptional cases decided by the court, the competent employee will contact you to arrange entry to the building of the competent court.


  1. In the event that the notice to appear in the remote video court hearing is not received, what is the required procedure?

In the event that the appearance notice link is not received, the person concerned can submit an electronic application in which the phone number and e-mail are indicated, and the concerned employee will send the appearance link at the specified date and time. The application can also be made via the email indicated next to the details of the case, indicating the capacity, phone number and email and attaching the UAE Identity Card and the POA. Please note that updating the personal details entails sending all subsequent notices and notifications to the updated phone number or email. (It is also possible for you to enter the court session by visiting the official website of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department www.adjd.gov.ae select (Courts), then (Remote court hearings), follow the instructions. It is also possible to attend a session held even if you do not receive a notice to appear).

 

What do I do if I cannot access via the link?

Send a message to the email of the concerned employee, which is indicated in the SMS message received on your mobile phone (It is also possible to attend the court session by visiting the official website of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department www.adjd.gov.ae then (Courts), then (Remote court hearings), and follow the instructions. It is also possible to attend a session held even if you do not receive a notice to appear)   by e-mail or through the digital service of the cases and sessions roll.  

 

If the notice is sent to the court user and he forwards the message to his attorney or agent, can others use the same link to access the hearing?

What is the time limit for litigants to be notified to attend hearings?

3 days at least prior to the specified session so that the court user can prepare what he wants to submit, so that the court clerk can attach what has been submitted in the Case Management System and so that the judge can read what has been submitted. What is included in the notice to appear in a remote video hearing?

The notice contains the name of the party, case details, date and time of the session, session details, password, link to attend the session, link to file memos and documents, and the technical support link.

How can litigants submit their memos and documents in the lawsuit before the hearing?

It is possible for litigants to send memos and documents through the link sent to litigants. It can also be submitted through the Digital Court Applications.

 

Can documents be attached during the session?

Yes, there is no objection to doing this during the session's consideration, through instant sharing, but it is desirable to file it before the specified session date, and it is also possible to apply through Digital Court Applications or according to the instructions of the competent employee.

 

How can I make sure that the court clerk did receive my documents during the session?

The documents are attached automatically, you can contact the court clerk or the Case Examiner for more information.

 

How can the parties know the judge's decision in the session?

The decision is usually issued immediately at the end of the video session. However, the decision may be postponed to the end of the session to examine the file.  The court's decision can also be viewed through the service of linking the UAE Pass Account to the case file or through the case inquiry service. In the event of permission to submit memoranda during the time limit, what is the procedure in place?

You have to abide by the specified period, by filing memos and documents through the communication channels determined  by the judge or the case examiner, and the best way is to file memos and documents through Electronic Applications Portal 

 

How can I pay the judicial fees in the event of a court decision?

Usually, an SMS message is sent to the mobile phone or email registered in the case file, including a link to deposit the fee by credit or debit card. If you do not receive the link, you can contact the relevant employee. The court user can submit an electronic application in the case and add the approved phone number so that the fee link is sent to this number.

How can I submit memos or applications during or after the case is deliberated in the courts or in the Enforcement Division (such as motions for certificates, memoranda, executory wording, amending hearing dates, copying the file, and other options related to the file of the case or lawsuit)?

You can do this through the digital services available on the website of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department www.adjd.gov.ae where you will find the case number for which the application is to be submitted.

It can also be submitted via electronic applications.

 

I am trying to submit an application in a court case or enforcement file, but it does not appear in the list of court cases and enforcement files. What is the procedure in place?

If you do not find the case, submit an application to link the case through the service named (Linking cases to the UAE Pass Account),bearing in mind that the service is intended for individuals,  but in the event that you  are an agent or legal representative of a company, establishment, or another individual, you can also submit applications through the existing agent and legal representative services via the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department website www.adjd.gov.ae

What language is used in remote video court hearings?

Arabic is the official language of the courts.

 

I do not speak Arabic; how can I communicate in the remote video court hearing?

The Judicial Department will make the necessary coordination to obtain the interpreting service during the litigation. The court user can submit an electronic application to request an interpreter before the session date. 

 

What is the cost of hiring an interpreter in the remote video session and what are the available languages?

Most languages are available including Sign Language. The Judicial Department will make the necessary arrangements to provide all translation languages. As for the translation costs, it is 100 dirhams per translation hour. Labour and criminal cases are exempted from fees, according to the legislation and regulations in this regard.

 

How are translation costs paid?

You will get a link via SMS that contains the payment page, make sure to pay the fees well in advance of the session time.

 

What are the procedures for obtaining the legal translator service in the remote video session?

The competent employee will make the necessary arrangements to hire a translator according to your language.
