Thank you for visiting the Official Abu Dhabi Judicial Department website. How may I help you?

Thank you for chatting with us today. Have a nice day. Good bye.

What is an IBAN?

IBAN is the International Bank Account compliant with the ISO 13616 standard. It is a unique customer account number that can be used with confidence to make transfers and receive payments (excluding cheques and credit cards) inside and outside the country. The trust comes from two sources: the first is the internationally accepted standard for numbering bank customer accounts, and the second is the ISO 13616 methodology for verifying the accuracy of the IBAN.

Who can create and issue an IBAN?

Banks that maintain customer accounts using electronic payments are authorised to generate an IBAN. No other party is allowed to generate international bank account numbers for bank customers.

Why are you required to attach an IBAN certificate and the account details in some transactions of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department?

For your convenience, and for the speed of completion of transactions for disbursing the amounts owed to you, and for the security features, you will be required, in some transactions, to attach the IBAN certificate of your bank account and its details, so that the amounts will be transferred to this account when needed, noting that the certificate must be certified by your bank.

How can I update my IBAN account details with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department?

You can do this through the website of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department www.adjd.gov.ae
