Since its creation in 2006, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has significantly enhanced several technical and administrative areas of work based on its belief in the importance of the judiciary in the community stability and development. As a result of those efforts, the judicial and justice services were optimized to the international professional levels in accordance with integrated judicial standards and procedures that ensure best practices and right and justice-based outcomes.
From the outset, our efforts to activate the role, modernize the practices and optimize the capabilities of the Judiciary were intended to bring about a accomplished judiciary that can administer justice, safeguard the rights and reinforce Abu Dhabi current comprehensive development which was inspired by the long-term vision launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. It is this insightful and justice-based vision that guided the Department staff to put in place the directives of General His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Chief Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Executive Council. This vision also enabled us to achieve the mission of the Department, emphasize its values and deeply establish its vision with a direct and clear-cut follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Department Chairman.
We set several goals including, but not limited to, accessible justice, e-services availability to further outreach the public, independent, fair and impartial judiciary that can deliver on its mission independently and transparently, justice for all unexceptionally and use all awareness channels. To achieve those goals, the Department adopted the latest technologies to streamline and follow up on the judicial and administrative activities. We found out that the Department new website delivers no role in awareness-raising, but serves as a source for basic information on the services provided to the public. Therefore, we started an IT-based program to modernize the website in order to enable it to promote awareness on the Department and its goals, contribute to the local and international prestige of the Department, deepen the work relation with the Department partners and circulate useful knowledge to all Judiciary staff.
The progress which the Department is currently making is well in harmony with the multi-sided growth which the UAE in general and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular, are achieving in the economic, cultural, tourist, social and educational sides. We do believe, if we need to maintain the impetus of this growth into the future and to always seek the best, then we have to continuously enhance our Judiciary and to embed the rule of Law.
