Thank you for visiting the Official Abu Dhabi Judicial Department website. How may I help you?

Thank you for chatting with us today. Have a nice day. Good bye.

Minor Prosecutions have been established to facilitate litigation and the process of using courts for the residents of the remote areas or densely populated areas. These prosecutions deal with all types of crimes except for those under the specialized prosecutions which are affiliated to the Major Prosecution. They are not affiliated by other prosecutions and are not specialized to act in criminal cases, e.g. Al Ruwais Prosecution, Al Yahar Prosecution and Al Waqan Prosecution.

Specialized Minor Prosecutions have the competence to investigate and conduct misdemeanor cases in general, there are two types of such persecutions, which are classified based on either:

1. Type of crime

It is concerned with the investigation and conduct of certain types of crimes such as the Money Prosecution, the Traffic Prosecution, the Municipal Prosecution, the Prosecution of Naturalization and Residency. It follows the Major Prosecution except for the Media Prosecution which follows the Attorney General, or

2. Individuals

Which is Family Prosecution, it is concerned with the investigation and taking action in all crimes of misdemeanors occurring within the same family or those of juveniles, and it follows the Major Prosecution.

According to the strategy of the Judicial Department, the Public Prosecution operates according to a constantly evolving methodology that seeks to support and protect the society, especially the promotion of the culture of the youth and young people, in order to safeguard their lives and their future. It is worth noting that there are 5 major prosecutions and 18 minor prosecutions in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
